Mansfield Retainers
Maintain Your Smile for Years to Come
Retainers at Sunflower Orthodontics play an important role in maintaining your smile after treatment. They help keep your teeth from shifting, so your results stay just the way you want them.
Retainers at a Glance
Wearing a retainer is the best way to keep your smile in place after braces or Invisalign treatment. Without one, teeth can gradually shift back over time.
At Sunflower Orthodontics in Mansfield, Dr. Jae Brimhall offers different types of retainers to match your needs and lifestyle.
Essix Retainers
Essix retainers at Sunflower Orthodontics are clear, custom-made trays. They fit comfortably over your teeth and help prevent shifting after treatment.
How Essix Retainers Work
Essix retainers are made using digital scans for a precise, custom fit. Their full-coverage design helps maintain your smile over time.
They’re also removable and low-profile, making them easy to wear as part of your routine.
Hawley Retainers
Hawley retainers are a time-tested option at Sunflower Orthodontics for maintaining your smile. They help keep your teeth in place and support long-term results.
How Hawley Retainers Work
Hawley retainers use a durable acrylic base and metal wire to hold your teeth in place. Each retainer is custom-made to fit your smile after treatment.
Because Hawley retainers are adjustable, Dr. Jae can make small changes without you needing a completely new retainer.
In-House Retainers
At Sunflower Orthodontics, Dr. Jae creates custom in-house retainers that fit your smile perfectly. This personalized approach helps your results to last.
How In-House Retainers Work
In-house retainers at Sunflower Orthodontics are made on-site using clear, comfortable, BPA-free plastic.
We begin with digital scans of your teeth, then use advanced 3D printing technology to create your customized retainer. Since everything is done in our Mansfield office, you can get your retainer faster and replace it more easily if it’s ever lost or broken.
Fixed Retainers
In some cases, Dr. Jae may recommend a fixed retainer to help you maintain your results. They’re placed behind your teeth for added support.
How Fixed Retainers Work
Fixed retainers provide continuous support by staying in place behind your front teeth. They’re typically used on the lower teeth and paired with a removable retainer for your upper teeth.
Phase 1 Retainers
After Phase I treatment, your child may need a retainer to help maintain their progress. At Sunflower Orthodontics, a Twin Block retainer is sometimes used to support results until it’s time for Phase II treatment.
How Phase 1 Retainers Work
This removable appliance uses carefully designed acrylic blocks that hold your child’s jaw in a better position as they grow. It also creates space for permanent teeth to come in more naturally.
When your child is ready, the next step will be Phase II treatment.
